WIN a "Trip of a Lifetime" to Croatia

Great Lakes Scuttlebutt, YACHTS, and Navigare Yachting have launched another “Trip of a Lifetime” contest giveaway, and this time we are going to Croatia!

Sailing the Adriatic Sea and the 1000+ islands of Croatia is one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. There is no better way to explore the beauty of the region and live a true holiday adventure than by private yacht. We will board our Navigare catamaran in Dubrovnik and island-hop our way along the Dalmatian Coast, visiting multiple locations, and ending in Trogir.

Split and Dubrovnik are among the sunniest cities in Europe during the summer, which is why visits between these cities are so popular and enjoyable. For Game of Thrones fans, the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik is where scenes were shot for King’s Landing! We plan to explore these dramatic medieval cities dotted with well-preserved Roman ruins while sampling island delights including world-class resorts, outstanding dining and entertainment, and thrilling outdoor activities.

The Dalmatian coastline off the Adriatic Sea is scattered with interesting islands. Some are entirely covered with lavishly green vegetation while others mainly consist of impressive rock formations. Some are uninhabited; others have emerged into vibrant centers buzzing with hospitality and entertainment. Impressive waterfalls, hospitable towns, clean ports, and lively fishing communities are typical in this multicultural region. One island we plan to visit, Hvar, is known for its nightlife, restaurants, and beautiful inlets and coves. Croatian wine-making goes back thousands of years and, as we visit restaurants, many will offer wine tastings to compliment the dining experience.

On this trip, we plan to lounge on brilliant sand and stone beaches, swim in warm Adriatic waters, and tie up in quaint harbors or in hidden coves, surrounded by rugged cliffs and charming villages. We are able to dive in the clearest waters during the day and enjoy the warm hospitality in picturesque island towns in the evenings. As we island hop from one gorgeous blue bay to the next, we are guaranteed to find all the stops along the way to be exceptionally beautiful.

As one of the most magnificent diving sites in the world, Croatia’s diving opportunities are often underappreciated! Hundreds of small bays and islands are perfect spots for beginners and professional divers alike. Underwater cliffs with Gorgonian coral surrounded by big schools of fish are the specialty of local diving sites, along with wreck dives of ships, airplanes, and even torpedo wreckage.

This Croatian private yacht cruise will be an adventure in nature at its purest, with plenty of interesting history, all complemented by friendly hospitality, the finest meat, and the freshest fish available—making for an unforgettable experience.
