Sea Speed has been serving the US Navy since 2001.
SEA SPEED works exceptionally well as an aluminum boat coating. In particular, it performs on special operations craft, patrol vessels, and riverine boats that operate at high speeds in demanding conditions.
The SEA SPEED marine coating creates a hard yet flexible elastomeric surface. You can apply it directly to bare metal or over a military specification epoxy such as SEAPOXY 73. As a result, the process becomes simpler and more cost efficient, which reduces overall lifecycle costs.
The latest version, SEA SPEED V 10 X, works on both small and large vessels. In addition, it handles extreme use, including high speed operations and extended layup periods. Unlike traditional antifouling paints, it allows owners to scrub the surface without damaging the coating or releasing harmful materials into the water.
The coating also delivers strong performance benefits. It has a very low coefficient of friction and low surface energy. As a result, it reduces hull drag and improves efficiency. The polysiloxane technology creates a smooth, glossy surface that limits marine growth. While conventional coatings wear over time, SEA SPEED V 10 X uses a non depleting system designed to last up to ten years.
SEA SPEED also works well for trailered vessels. Because the cured coating remains inert, it does not react when stored out of the water. Depending on the vessel, owners may see increased speed and improved fuel efficiency of up to ten percent. Ultimately, SEA SPEED helps reduce operating costs while lowering environmental impact.
